Schiff wants Democrats to ‘hold firm’ on shutdown

The first priority of both sides when it comes to a government shutdown should simply be funding the government so workers are getting paid. That is why we have only had a handful of government shutdowns throughout history, as the signing of the continuing resolution (CR) is generally a formality.

This time, Democrats are going for broke, looking to score points and take back power, and all you need to do is listen to leadership to realize that.

The Schumer shutdown

When Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) helped the GOP pass the CR in March, he was raked over the coals, so now he is all-in on the shutdown.

During a recent interview, Schumer could barely contain his giddiness, stating, “Every day gets better for us.”

Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) took offense, responding, “They are choosing politics over the paychecks of the American working men and women who protect our nation.

“And this weakness defines today’s Democrat Party. They’re radical, extreme, dangerous, scary, and they are out of touch.”

Childish Newsom Posts

Since the 2024 election, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has been replicating Trump in every way, from stealing his social media style to the ridiculous and childish memes to the big podcast tour.

After the elections were over, Newsom could barely contain himself, so he and his team must have worked for hours on a WWE video, photoshopping his face, Trump’s, and that of Schumer and Jeffries onto wrestlers, with Trump getting a smackdown in the ring.

It was juvenile, but Newsom was so proud of the creation.

Mind you, had Trump put out a video like that, Democrats would have said he was putting their lives at risk. And we all know it’s the truth.

Hold Firm

That brings us to Schiff, arguably one of the slimiest politicians in DC.

He was not recommending finding common ground or offering an olive branch, but instead told the party, “hold firm” because they are winning elections. He stated, “The president, on his social media tonight, acknowledged that the shutdown is part of the reason Republicans are losing, and it makes sense. They’re controlling everything. They control the White House, the House, and the Senate.”

Schiff continued, “They’ve been unwilling to negotiate with Democrats. And so, I think we need to hold firm, demand changes that make health care affordable for people.”

It’s literally a game, a power game, but a game nonetheless. They don’t care about anything but taking back Congress and the White House. But at this point, the GOP has nothing to lose because they have already lost everything, so it does not look like this will get settled anytime soon.
