Walz avoids taking blame for financial scandal in MN after Trump calls him out
During the 2024 election, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz showed his true colors when it came to taking the blame for his mistakes.
The ongoing narrative was that nothing was really his fault. He is doing the same thing with a national spotlight on the massive fraud scheme in his state regarding the abuse of COVID funding.
Hurt Tim’s feelings
Trump went off over the scandal, calling Walz “retarded,” and the media blew up over it, as did some Republicans.
For instance, a GOP state senator in Indiana said he would never back Trump’s redistricting maps now.
Walz also responded, stating, “I think we all know using that term is just so damaging. It’s hurtful. We have fought three decades to get this out of our schools, and kids know better than to use it.”
He continued, “But this is what Donald Trump has done, he’s normalized this type of hateful behavior… at first I think he’s just not a good human being but secondly to distract from his incompetency.”
Whistleblower
Walz’s narrative on this took a bit of a blow when the state’s Department of Human Services X account spilled the beans on Walz.
The account represents about 480 state workers, and it posted, “Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota. We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud but no, we got the opposite response.”
The post continued, “Tim Walz systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports. Instead of partnership, we got the full weight of retaliation.”
It concluded, “It’s scary, isolating and left us wondering who we can turn to.”
Doubling down
Walz has been all over the media over this, and he is trying to flip the narrative that he is the one who cleaned up the mess, which is like pouring a gallon of milk on the floor and wanting to be applauded for cleaning it up.
He stated, "Well, certainly I take responsibility for putting people in jail. Governors don’t get to just talk theoretically. We have to solve problems and I will note, it’s not just Somalis.
“Minnesota is a generous state, Minnesota is a prosperous state, a well-run state, we are AAA bond-rated, but that attracts criminals. Those people are going to jail, and we are doing everything we can, but to demonize an entire community on the actions of a few, it’s lazy.”
This was a massive fraud scandal, and how it went on for so long without anyone seeing it just goes to show how unprepared for the White House Walz was. We dodged a massive bullet when Trump beat these two.
