Biden regulations being obliterated by GOP Congress

When Trump was in office, he shredded government regulations. Then Joe Biden was elected in 2020, and the regulations book started to grow out of control again.

Trump has once again slashed them, mostly in an effort to reduce government spending and spur economic growth in the country.

$1.4 Trillion

That is the number that the American Action Forum (AAF) claimed Biden’s regulations were costing the American taxpayer.

AAF claimed, “President Biden is on track to impose more regulatory cost on our economy than any President in history, adding $1.4 trillion since coming to office. This is a staggering 45 times the regulatory costs accumulated under President Trump and almost five times the regulatory costs added under President Obama.

“Biden’s burdensome regulations along with his tax hikes and unbridled spending are fueling the cost of living crisis under which working Americans are suffering. Cutting Washington’s wasteful spending and reducing taxes and regulations will spur economic growth and reduce our unsustainable deficits.”

The report claimed that Biden had put 851 new rules in place since taking office, 59 in 2024 alone, which is where it claimed $926 billion of the $1.37 trillion costs had taken place.

Pulling It All Back

Some of the regulations in question were meant to squeeze big oil and move the country toward electric vehicles over the next decade.

Trump announced that he was targeting many of these rules, stating, “We are officially terminating Joe Biden’s ridiculously burdensome, horrible actually, Cafe standards that imposed expensive restrictions.

“It put tremendous upward pressure on car prices, combined with the insane electric vehicle mandate.”

I don’t have a problem with EVs or renewable energy, but I have never understood why both sides of the aisle pit them against each other rather than allowing them to work in conjunction to present the lowest possible costs to the American people. Biden’s rules were meant to choke the fossil fuel industry, so I 100% back Trump for once again shredding the rules book.

The Worst of the Worst

Biden had a lot of bad rules that were put in place, but there were a handful that stood out to me, with the banning of gasoline-powered engines over the next decade being atop that list.

Biden also wanted to end coal leasing even though it would decimate states like Montana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Another rule by Biden that I disagreed with was shutting down massive areas of Alaska for energy production, especially when you consider energy has more or less become the driving force in its economy.

Biden’s rules put all of our bank accounts at risk, and this is a problem that will not be solved overnight. Trump is going down the right road, but just remember, if the Democrats win Congress back and take back the White House, we go right back to 2021 as soon as they take their seats.
