Bondi and Patel reveal new report on the Clinton Foundation
If there was ever a case for pay-to-play in our government, it was the Clinton Foundation. When the Clintons were in office, the charity thrived and had a staggering amount of donations.
However, once both of them were out of office, suddenly donors dried up, with shocking reductions in donations the first year Hillary left office. Now, Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel are releasing more information about this tidy little scam the Clintons have been running.
Drying up
When Hillary was Secretary of State and then a presidential candidate, the money was flowing at the Foundation, and a lot of it was coming from powerful foreign donors.
After she lost to Trump, however, the checkbooks closed right up.
As an example, roughly half of the donors to the Foundation were people who had met with Hillary when she was Secretary of State.
Another example was a Chicago donor who gave $100,000, then found himself hired by State, serving on the arms control panel, even though he had about as much experience in that field as Hunter Biden had in energy when he was put on the board of Burisma.
Trump calls out Foundation
Trump has always believed the Foundation was a scam for pay-to-play politics.
During the 2016 campaign season, he had stated, "It's impossible to figure out where the Clinton Foundation ends and the State Department begins.
"It is now abundantly clear that the Clintons set up a business to profit from public office. They sold access and specific actions by and to them for money."
While Bill and Hillary never drew a salary, their daughter did. And that does not even start to dive into the NGOs that were funded by the Foundation, as well as former staffers who were benefitting from funds being distributed by the Foundation.
New evidence
A report broke this week that Bondi and Patel have turned over a slew of documents to Congress regarding foreign donations made to the Foundation by individuals hoping to get access.
Just the News reported that “documents were transmitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee in recent days and detail numerous instances of foreigners and even a U.S. defense contractor seeking to curry favor with the Clintons through donations to their family charity, including when Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state. Bill Clinton was the U.S. president from 1993 to 2001.”
One official told Just the News that the documents will show an effort “to obstruct legitimate inquiries into the Foundation by blocking real investigation by line-level FBI agents and DOJ field prosecutors and keeping them from following the money.”
I have always believed this was corruption in plain sight by the Clintons, and I really hope they are able to nail them with this new information. At some point, the Clintons have to be held accountable, or at least exposed, for the corrupt public officials we all knew them to be.
