Comey case at risk after judge tears into Bondi’s prosecutors

For many of us on the right, the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey was a long time coming.

The media and Democrats, however, called it the weaponization of the DOJ.

My biggest fear about this case was a radical liberal judge being assigned to it, and guess what just happened?

He’s Been Indicted

Lindsey Halligan, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, announced the indictment, stating, “The charges as alleged in this case represent a breach of the public trust at an extraordinary level. The balance of power is a bedrock principle of our democracy, and it relies upon accountability and a forthright presentation of facts from executive leadership to congressional oversight.”

Halligan continued, “Any intent to avoid, evade, prevent, or obstruct compliance is a violation of professional responsibility and, most importantly, the law.”

While New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a civil suit against Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi managed to get an indictment from a grand jury, where probable cause must be shown.

That all seems to have been missed by the left, though.

I Was Treated Unfairly

After Comey was indicted, he immediately played the victim, and his attorneys expanded upon that while making a filing to have his charges dismissed, claiming that Trump had ordered the DOJ to target Comey.

They argued, “The government has singled out Mr. Comey for prosecution because of his protected speech and because of President Trump’s personal animus toward Mr. Comey.”

The filing continued, “The proper remedy for this unconstitutional prosecution is dismissal with prejudice.”

Has anyone even considered that he did something wrong, considering a grand jury found enough evidence to drop the indictment? Of course not!

Radical Judge

Have you ever heard of a judge rip a prosecutor for having too much evidence? After a grand jury indictment, have you ever heard a judge accuse prosecutors of not having properly investigated the alleged crime?

Well, that is what Magistrate Judge William Fitzpatrick of the Eastern District of Virginia just did to Bondi’s prosecutors, telling them, "Right now, we are in a bit of a feeling of indict first, investigate later.”

They he actually stuck up for the defense, saying prosecutors are making their jobs too hard because of the sheer volume of documents they produced against Comey, saying, "The government has had this for five and a half years … this is an unfair burden the government is placing on the defense, but I don’t see another path forward.”

I honestly feel sorry for Bondi because she is in a very bad position here. If she loses this case and the James case, and based on the judges, that is likely to happen, I think Trump is going to can her. And if she loses the case against John Bolton, I have no doubt she will be gone. It is a shame because I think overall, she has done a great job, but these cases are the only ones that matter to Trump, and I just don’t see her winning a majority of them, let alone all of them.
