Even amid fraud probes, Omar tries to earmark more money for Somali organizations

If I were handling the checkbook for the federal government right now, I would not be writing a single check to the state of Minnesota until all this fraud is fixed. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), however, decided that now was the perfect time to add a $1 million earmark for a Somali organization.

Thankfully, it was caught before the bill went on the floor for a vote.

Deflecting

Omar is a master at trying to move your vision away from the real problem, and she is in overdrive doing that right now.

For instance, after Trump described the woman who was shot by ICE as “disorderly, obstructing, and resisting,” Omar responded, “Well, that’s an incredibly delusional, statement. We’ve all seen the video. We’ve seen it on multiple angles. You can see no ice agent falls to the ground. No one is run over.”

She continued, “So to rewrite. Something that is still so visibly available, on all everywhere, that people can, can see. Just shows how, disturbingly delusional our president has become.  But the people have their own eyes. They can make their own judgments. And certainly when this investigation is over, we are going to know really what has taken place. And I hope that that leads to accountability.”

According to DHS Secretary Noem, the woman had been following ICE agents around all day. I would also note that if they were not trying to get into some type of conflict with officers, why was her friend filming from afar the moment ICE agents showed up on the scene?

Murder

Omar is also trying to whip people up by calling this murder.

She stated, “ICE has been carrying out state-sanctioned violence in our communities. We have seen them terrorize so many of citizens in the Fifth District and across Minnesota. And that has tragically led to this murder that we all watched on TV.”

She continued, “And so, it is not helpful for us to have ICE agents unlawfully just carrying out these ridiculous raids that are not resulting in any sort of arrests, that have no explanation of why they are there. They are disturbing peaceful communities that are just trying to live out their lives. And I join our mayor and our senator in asking them to get the heck out of our city.”

A woman was just killed doing exactly what Democrats have asked them to do, so you would think they would try to get everyone to step back and take a breath for a second, but they are just pouring more gasoline on this fire.

Give Me Some Money

There is another funding bill working its way through Congress right now, and Omar tried to carve out $1 million to give to Generation Hope’s “Justice Empowerment Initiative.”

House Appropriations Committee Chair, Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK), caught it. He stated, “I can’t afford to have a million-dollar project jeopardize a $184 billion package of bills.

“If we have an individual project that can pose a political problem, I’ve had these in the past from our side before, where we had to tell a member, ‘look, there might be a way to do this, but our advice to you is to withdraw this.'”

No money for Minnesota, period, until it can prove it knows how to manage its money. And if they keep this fight up against, keep it frozen.
