FBI official slams MS NOW over fake story about Kash Patel

A fresh media tempest is swirling around FBI Director Kash Patel, courtesy of what appears to be a shaky hit piece by MS NOW.

This controversy centers on MS NOW accusing Patel of abusing FBI resources by having SWAT agents on his girlfriend’s security detail ferry her supposedly drunk friend home after Nashville nights out, a claim the FBI flatly rejects.

Fox News reported that MS NOW published a report alleging Patel directed agents to act as personal chauffeurs for his girlfriend’s friend on several occasions.

Their story, backed by three unnamed sources, frames this as part of a supposed trend of Patel misusing agency assets.

It also points out that Patel is the first FBI director to assign a security detail to a non-spouse partner, except in cases where past directors protected spouses during travel.

But where’s the evidence? Without it, this story feels like a stretch, and the FBI isn’t swallowing it either.

MS NOW Clings to Unnamed Sources

Ben Williamson, FBI assistant director for public affairs, jumped on X to blast the report as complete nonsense.

He wrote, “1,000% false and did not happen,” while shedding light on how he thinks this tale was concocted from nothing.

Williamson says he first got wind of the claim earlier in the week of the story’s release and promptly investigated by asking Patel, his girlfriend Alexis, the security detail, and others—all of whom denied it.

After digging, Williamson found no record or confirmation of the incident, casting serious doubt on MS NOW’s journalistic standards.

When he challenged the reporter for source details, MS NOW’s reply was a dismissive shrug: “We do not have that info but are comfortable with our sourcing."

That’s not reporting—it’s rolling the dice and hoping for a jackpot. How can readers trust a story built on such shaky ground?

Patel Stands Firm Against Accusations

Patel himself has addressed similar criticisms before, asserting on Fox News, “I’m entitled to a personal life, just like my other agency-head counterparts with their partners."

He’s also pushed back on wild claims about misusing FBI assets, arguing that detractors ignore his agency’s achievements to focus on baseless gossip.

In a climate where progressive narratives often steer media coverage, it’s hardly surprising that a conservative leader like Patel, who champions a tough-on-crime stance, faces these unproven allegations. Still, fairness demands evidence, and without it, this looks more like a political smear than legitimate journalism.
