Former FBI agent says Trump has ‘slam-dunk’ case against Obama-era officials

Russian collusion and election interference… the two big cases against Trump that fell apart. The Russian collusion case fell apart because investigators could never prove that Trump had colluded with Russians, as now-Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) swore up and down that he had done. The election interference cases fell apart after Trump got elected.

Former FBI agent and Navy SEAL Jonathan Gilliam believes that if Trump filed a case against Obama-era officials, he would win easily.

No Collusion

In my eyes, the case that would have teeth would be the Russian collusion case.

This was where rules were clearly broken, and it just seemed obvious that rogue officials were out to get Trump in any way they could.

When this was finally internally investigated, Special Counsel Robert Mueller announced that after 22 months, they did not have evidence that Trump had, in fact, colluded with the Russians to interfere in the election.

Everyone made a big deal that Russia had tried to interfere, but they do that in every election, as do several other nations, including the United States, in foreign elections.

Election Interference and Classified Documents

The election interference and classified documents were another matter altogether.

There was a lot going on here, but ultimately, after Trump won the election, nobody saw the purpose of proceeding with the cases because they would not be able to touch Trump until after he left office in 2029.

And at that point, Trump will be 82 years old, so what was the point?

The one case that was still alive, the George election interference case, wound up being dropped when a new prosecutor took over the case. Pete Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia, tried to save face, stating, "The criminal conduct alleged in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit's prosecution was conceived in Washington, D.C., not the State of Georgia. The federal government is the appropriate venue for this prosecution, not the State of Georgia."

Slam Dunk

Gilliam is of the opinion that Trump could win a case against all these people in a conspiracy case.

He stated, “We had a tremendous amount of evidence that they were trying to create evidence and falsify evidence to go after Trump. Now we see that they're trying to stop investigations and get rid of real evidence for the purpose of protecting the Clintons.

“I think this really does lead to bigger charges such as conspiracy to overthrow an election, I would say, potentially treason, if you could put that in there, but definitely sedition.”

This may not be a popular opinion, but if I were Trump, I would just walk away from it all. There is no need to poke the bear here. As long as nobody comes after Trump again, just let it go. We need to stop looking in the rearview mirror and worry about the threats right in front of us, as they are far more troublesome than what is behind Trump.
