Fox News analyst Guy Benson and husband welcome baby girl Madison Halsey
Fox News political analyst Guy Benson announced the birth of his daughter Madison Halsey on July 15, drawing congratulations from conservative figures including former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Fox News host Dana Perino.
Benson, 39, shared the news on Instagram Monday alongside photos of the newborn, one showing him cradling the infant in a hospital room, the baby swaddled in a patterned blanket and wearing a pink-and-white striped cap. A second photo showed Madison in a stroller near a window overlooking the family's backyard. The post collected more than 10,000 likes, the New York Post reported.
Benson wrote simply: "She's here, and she's perfect."
He continued in the post:
"We are blessed and overjoyed to welcome Madison Halsey into the world and into our family. Our hearts are filled to the brim. A baby girl. We are just so thankful."
Madison is the second child for Benson and his husband, Adam Wise, a talent agent. The couple married in 2019 and welcomed their first child, a son named Conrad James, via surrogate in November 2023.
Conservative media figures rally around Benson's growing family
The announcement drew quick responses from prominent names in conservative politics and media. Haley, the former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador, posted "Congratulations" on Instagram. Perino, who co-hosts one of Fox News's flagship programs, did the same. Political commentator SE Cupp also offered well-wishes.
Benson has long described himself as a "free-market, shrink-the-government conservative" who happens to be gay, a straightforward self-description that set him apart in an era when media personalities increasingly defy tidy political categories. He hosts "The Guy Benson Show" on Fox News Radio, a nationally syndicated program, and serves as a Fox News political analyst on television.
In 2015, Benson co-authored a book with Mary Katharine Ham titled *End of Discussion: How the Left's Outrage Industry Shut Down Debate, Manipulates Voters, and Makes America Less Free (and Fun).* The book took aim at progressive speech policing and ideological conformity, themes Benson has continued to press on air for more than a decade.
Benson has been open about his family life on his show, a choice that reflects his broader argument that conservatism is big enough to include people the left assumes belong in its column. That willingness to live publicly as both a gay man and an unapologetic conservative has made him a distinctive voice on the right, even as political media figures routinely face scrutiny for how they balance personal life and public commentary.
Madison Halsey arrives as Benson's profile continues to grow
The birth of a second child marks another milestone for a family Benson has built while maintaining one of the higher profiles in conservative media. His radio show reaches a national audience, and his television appearances put him at the center of political debate regularly.
The response from figures like Haley and Perino, both of whom carry significant weight in the Republican orbit, underscores the goodwill Benson has earned across the conservative movement. In a political landscape where news about major Republican figures often centers on controversy or crisis, a baby announcement is a welcome change of pace.
The specific hospital where Madison Halsey was born and other details about her arrival were not disclosed. Benson kept the focus on gratitude and family.
For a movement that talks constantly about family values, moments like this one put the principle into practice, no lecture required.
