Harris under the microscope after Walz fraud exposed
When Kamala Harris chose Tim Walz as her running mate, she made it very clear that this was her call, and she was trusting her “gut” in making that call. Well, Walz is now in the midst of a major fraud scandal that has likely ended his career.
Harris may find her career in trouble by proxy, since this goes a long way toward showing her judgment capabilities.
Naming Walz
I still believe that had Harris chosen Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, this would have been a much tighter race.
Instead, she moved away from Shapiro and other candidates, then picked Walz.
At the time, she stated, “As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he's delivered for working families like his. We are going to build a great partnership."
Harris has already admitted that she did not pick Buttigieg because she did not think America was ready for a black woman and a gay man to run the country. And the general consensus is that she did not pick Shapiro because she was afraid of losing the far left vote. How did all that work out?
Trusting Her Gut
There were rumors at the time that, in addition to the Jewish issue with Shapiro, he wanted to be very active in the administration, something that did not sit well with Harris, who claims to be the last person Biden spoke to on every major decision.
Cedric Richmond, a former White House adviser who was part of Ms. Harris’s selection team, stated, “She wanted someone who understood the role, someone she had a connection with and someone who brought contrast to the ticket.”
Harris could have had Shapiro, Buttigieg, or even Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), all solid choices in terms of public appeal, but she chose a no-name governor who looks more like Elmer Fudd than someone who was going to be the number two in the White House.
Her choice was applauded by leadership, with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stating, “It says to the heartland of America, ‘You’re not a flyover zone for us — we’re all together in this.’”
Guilty by Proxy
So, what we really need to look at here is that these fraud investigations were actually started during the Biden administration, so Harris had to know about this major skeleton in Walz’s closet.
Former Jill Biden Press Secretary Michael LaRosa noted, "This will dog VP Harris and she will need to answer questions about Tim Walz and her answers need to be CLEAR. If I were advising the former VP, I would put this to bed NOW and release a statement ASAP.
“Rip the Band-Aid off and get this behind her. Her judgment will be questioned and the trust she placed into those who vetted her VP options will also be questioned. How could they possibly have missed this?"
Instead, Harris is hiding because at some point, someone is going to realize that this all started when she was serving as VP, and it should have been a huge red flag. So, the choice is that she knew about the fraud and did not care, or was oblivious to it. Either way, I think it crushes any chance Harris has of reviving her political career. She would be wise to call up CNN and get a desk job.
