House Democrat claims she was hit with pepper spray at anti-ICE protest

Democrats have been encouraging protests against ICE raids, and now one of the Democrats is caught in the middle of one.

Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) attended one of the protests, where agents had to use pepper spray to break it up.

She is claiming that she was hit with pepper spray, but Republicans are now pushing back after seeing her video.

Inspiring Attacks

The attacks against ICE agents have been on a significant rise ever since Trump took back the White House.

According to DHS, the attacks are now up by more than 1,000% over the same period last year.

In July, the White House documented some of these attacks, including a July 4 incident when ICE officers were ambushed in Texas.

There were also incidents in Illinois and Oregon, as well as numerous other cities around the country, with Democrats sitting on their hands in regard to the violence. That, honestly, is expected since Democrats have been encouraging people to push back.

I Was Sprayed

Grijalva posted a video to X during a protest, claiming that she had been pushed and sprayed by agents.

She claimed, "I literally was not being aggressive, I was asking for clarification, which is my right as a member of Congress.

Here is the video she posted right after the incident allegedly took place…

Now, I have been sprayed with pepper spray by accident when I was at an event, and it just drifted into our area. I can flat out tell you that my eyes and the area around my eyes were red from the agitation that took place, and remained that way for some time.

Calling Her Out

To my point above, several Republicans noted how Grijalva’s face showed no signs of irritation from the alleged spraying. Video was later posted of an agent firing a shot of gas at her feet, but she was never directly sprayed by agents.

Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin commented on her video, stating, "They're not true. She was not pepper sprayed. She was in the vicinity of someone who *was* pepper sprayed as they were obstructing and assaulting law enforcement."

"In fact, 2 law enforcement officers were seriously injured by this mob that [Grijalva] joined. Presenting one’s self as a 'Member of Congress' doesn’t give you the right to obstruct law enforcement. More information forthcoming."

Just in case you missed it, Grijalva is the House member whose swearing-in was delayed due to the shutdown in Congress. But it’s good to know that just a few weeks into office, she is already sensationalizing and just blatantly lying to the American people.

To me, she is just another social media personality who happens to now be in Congress. Create posts for clicks, likes, and shares, and forget about actually doing any legislating.
