Josh Shapiro blows up at Kamala Harris over lies in memoir
If you were a reader during the 2024 election cycle, you know I thought that PA Governor Josh Shapiro was the easy pick for Harris. To this day, I think that race would have been a coin flip if she had chosen him.
In Harris’s book, she details why she picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz over Shapiro, and let’s just say Shapiro is not very happy about it.
For Kamala Harris, her running mate was going to make a huge difference simply because many people did not like or trust her.
She had to pick someone who would get her votes in swing states, and I thought Shapiro was a no-brainer.
He would have delivered PA, which Trump won, and I think he could have also delivered Michigan for her, which Trump won.
Shapiro is also far more polished than Walz, who often comes off like a buffoon. She made the wrong choice. And while I would still question if she would have won, Shapiro would have clearly made that race much tighter.
Going with Her Gut
The latest tell-all book on the election cycle claims, “[Shapiro] came across as overly ambitious, pushing Harris to define what his role would be. He also conceded it would not be natural for him to serve as someone’s number two, leaving Harris with a bad impression.”
In her book, Harris stated that she ultimately went with “her gut” in picking Walz, and thank God she did.
I think Walz cost her votes, not gained her votes, and it just gave American yet another reason not to like or trust Harris.
Governor Shapiro has apparently been reading all the comments by Harris, and he does not approve, to say the least.
Lies
The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta recently sat down with Shapiro to discuss Harris’ book, among other things, and he informed him of Harris describing him as “arrogant, domineering and captivated by VP perks,” according to the New York Post report.
Shapiro responded, “She wrote that in her book?” He continued, “That’s complete and utter bulls—t. I can tell you that her accounts are just blatant lies.”
He later added, “I mean, she’s trying to sell books and cover her ass.” He then tried to walk it back a bit, stating, “I shouldn’t say ‘cover her ass.’ I think that’s not appropriate." No, governor, you got it right the first time.
I think we can safely say that Shapiro and Harris will not be breaking bread together anytime soon.
