Trump crime crackdown has delivered real results
It was not long after Trump took office that he announced he was federalizing DC to crack down on crime.
It worked there, and the crackdown effort has worked across the entire country, as we are seeing some rather impressive numbers.
Even so, leave it to the media and Democrats to find something wrong.
Crime and the midterms
With the beating Trump and the GOP are taking on immigration, they have to find something to focus on to try to offset the damage, and Trump is hoping that will be crime.
In August, he stated, “I think that crime will be a big subject of the midterms and will be a big subject of the next election. And I think the Republicans are going to do really well.”
Historically speaking, Trump is being way too confident, as there have only been two presidencies over the course of decades that have held the House in their first midterm election cycle after a change in power.
Not to mention, the Democrats are playing up ICE as the Gestapo for all its worth, and they have flipped a lot of people who voted for Trump to shut down the border and deport illegal immigrants in this country.
Whining
One would think people would be happy with the results of the crime crackdown, but the media is playing a rather interesting angle on that front.
For instance, while Trump was touting the crime statistics of the administration, CNN was running a piece talking about the backlog of cases before the courts.
The report started, “President Donald Trump’s plan to combat crime in Washington, DC, with more federal force has led to a deluge of cases flooding already maxed-out courts in the city.”
The man just cannot win, even when he is doing something that is clearly positive for Americans and the country overall.
The Numbers Cannot Be Denied
Success has not just been in DC, even though that is the city that got all the attention.
A recent report by the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ) found, “The rate of reported homicides was 21% lower in 2025 than in 2024 in the 35 study cities providing data for that crime.”
When the FBI gives its report, the CCJ stated that it believes it could be the lowest numbers we have seen since 1900, yet Trump is still being criticized.
I agree with Trump that the GOP needs to tout crime, but I believe the party also needs to link it to the immigration efforts to show one is only happening due to the other. If they can do that, they might limit the damage generally seen during this election cycle.
