White House says people will 'be in cuffs' over MN fraud

A few weeks ago, the Minnesota fraud story was buried in the back pages, even after an explosive New York Times report. Now, however, it is getting headline coverage, and it has given the White House something to pounce on Democrats over.

To that point, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is promising that arrests will be made.

In today’s news world, it is not always the person who breaks the story first who gets all the credit, but instead the person who regurgitates it best.

In this case, it was a piece in the New York Times by Ernesto Londono on November 29, 2025, that really took a deep dive into the fraud tha16t was taking place in the Somali community in Minnesota.

It was an exceptional piece, even diving into the racial aspect of why fraud allegations were being dismissed over optics.

But Shirley did a long video, going from business to business, and while the video was amateurish, it was also explosive, and now this is a national story.

Trump Chimes In

This was the break that Donald Trump needed to deflect away from the Epstein files and bad polling, and he embraced it.

Trump picked up his phone and blasted on Truth Social, "There is more FRAUD in California than there is in Minnesota, if that is even possible. When you add in Election Fraud, then they are tied for first. Two Crooked Governors, two Crooked States!"

Then he went after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who is deeply tied to this community. Trump stated, "Much of the Minnesota Fraud, up to 90%, is caused by people that came into our Country, illegally, from Somalia. ‘Congresswoman’ Omar, an ungrateful loser who only complains and never contributes, is one of the many scammers.

“Did she really marry her brother? Lowlifes like this can only be a liability to our Country’s greatness. Send them back from where they came, Somalia, perhaps the worst, and most corrupt, country on earth. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

Arrests Will Be Made

There are a lot of people who believe Governor Tim Walz (D) needs to be held accountable, and the White House is now making it sound like Walz could be in an orange jumpsuit at some point.

Leavitt stated, "President Trump is not going to let Governor Walz off the hook. She continued, that "people will be in handcuffs,” as all as threatening to use denaturalization as a threat against any legal migrants who were part of these fraud schemes.

I am fairly confident the feds are going to find more fraud that has already been found, but I would caution anyone getting too excited about seeing Walz or Omar in cuffs over this.

Fraud happens to every administration in every state and within every presidency. It is because they don’t have the proper controls in place, not necessarily because they are part of the fraud. I am not excusing Walz here, so please don’t take it that way, but I just don’t see them being able to hang a criminal charge on him.
